What is World Wellbeing Week?
World Wellbeing Week (June 24th to 30th) celebrates and raises awareness of the importance of well-being in all our lives. The event, which takes place in the final week of June, dates back to 2019 and is a tool for promoting physical, mental, and emotional health. It was founded by Beverley Le Cuirot, a qualified life coach in subjects including Positive Psychology, Health and Well-Being, and Stress Management.
People are increasingly struggling with mental health issues because of societal pressures. Mental health statistics indicate that more than 1 in 7 UK adults claim that their mental health is currently bad or the worst it's ever been. World Wellbeing Week highlights how communities and individuals can remain positive. World Wellbeing Week is an especially good time to give young people the skills and tools to support their mental health and well-being.
There are many ways to boost your well-being, from managing stress at work to embracing hobbies and getting more active. World Wellbeing Week is also a time to focus on your health. If you notice anything unusual or you are worried about your breasts, make sure you book an appointment to see your GP! Take some transformational steps that will allow you to focus on the things that truly matter.
About Against Breast Cancer
Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer, with a lifetime risk for women of 1 in 7, while around 390 men are diagnosed with invasive breast cancer each year. Against Breast Cancer funds research into new treatments while also providing tools for earlier diagnosis and advice to reduce the risk of recurrence and secondary spread. The charity receives no government funding, so the support of the public and businesses is crucial.
Founded in 1993 by Dr Anthony Leathem and his wife Patricia, who had first-hand experience of the condition as a breast cancer theatre nurse, Against Breast Cancer funds research projects worth £4 million. Research is divided into three key areas: prevention, detection and therapies at several of the UK’s leading academic institutions. They also operate a fellowship programme that supports and develops young scientists who are the future of innovative research.
If you would like to get involved in raising crucial money for Against Breast Cancer, the charity has lots of fundraising ideas. Alternatively, set up a Savoo account and choose Against Breast Cancer as your preferred charity. It’s an easy way to build up donations for the charity whenever you redeem a discount on your online shopping.
