What makes Terrence Higgins Trust different
For many people, HIV is perceived as something which is over, not relevant to them or is something that happens thousands of miles away in developing countries. The reality is that men and women in the UK from all walks of life are living with the virus and many more are at risk of infection. It is therefore vital that THT continues to deliver targeted prevention programmes and continues to raise awareness of HIV and other STIs, as well as providing direct services to people living with HIV.
Other ways to support
There are plenty of volunteer opportunities and they hugely value the support you can offer. As an organisation founded by a group of committed friends who recruited volunteers to join the cause, Terrence Higgins Trust developed a strong volunteer culture that continues today. From outreach to training, gardening to mentoring, charity shop support and fundraising to advice and complementary therapy, we have a role to suit your skills and availability, check out the relevant opportunities on their website.
You can also support us in a run cycle or trek. At Terrence Higgins Trust they only get hot and sweaty in the best company, so if you want to sign up for the challenge of a lifetime we want YOU on their team.
Whether you are a running enthusiast, keen cyclist, or a dedicated walker or trekker, they will have something for you. So check out their upcoming events on their website, and become a part of the Terrence Higgins Trust team!
