How to Get Incredible First Choice Holiday Deals this Spring
It's that time of year. The sun's poking through the clouds, your inbox is full of travel emails, and you're itching to get something booked. But before you hit 'confirm', there are a few innovative ways to save that most people overlook.
Here's what I've learned after too many late-night holiday searches and more than a few "how did we miss that?" moments.
1. Double-check the TUI site
I know, it feels like a faff. But First Choice is part of the same group as TUI, and they don't always show the same prices. Sometimes the exact same hotel, flights, and dates are £50–£150 cheaper on one site over the other. No clue why. But it's worth a quick look before you commit.
2. There's more in the small print than you'd expect
Don't rely on star ratings or nice photos when choosing a hotel. Some holiday extras are not obvious in the headline messaging of travel deals. Think free room upgrades, extended checkout, or even airport lounge passes. They tend to pop up more often in quieter months like May or early June.
3. Switch up your airport
This one's easy to miss. We all tend to default to the airport closest to home. But depending on where you're going, flying from a different UK airport can cut the price by a surprising amount. I've seen packages from East Midlands or Newcastle come in cheaper than Manchester or Gatwick - even once petrol and parking are factored in. Try a few variations. It's not always logical, but it's worth the five-minute check.
4. The best value isn't always where everyone's going
Spain and Greece? Lovely. But also expensive in July. If you're a bit flexible, look at places like Albania, Morocco, or even Cape Verde. They're often overlooked, which means lower prices - but they're still warm, sunny, and packed with decent hotels. - Browse hotels and flights and click 'book now' to add to your basket
