Sea Cadets is a national youth charity that helps teenagers challenge themselves through a different kind of adventure and become the best they can be. Their aim is for young people to launch well in life, so they can cope with today’s world and thrive in it. They know what that takes because they have been doing it for over 160 years.
The charity understand how turbulent teenage years can be with the ever-changing pressures. Few children play out of home with others and remain indoors glued to social media due to the fear of being excluded. There is fierce competition and higher education is seen to be the only route to success. So Sea Cadets purpose is to help young people be equipped for life today, allowing them to stand out from everybody else and not feel lost. Sea Cadets provides opportunities that encourage young people to develop new ways of thinking and acting which improves their future: from learning to sail a tall-ship, power-boating, catering for a crew, taking part in a marching band, to engineering.
