Did you know...
More than 30 children are diagnosed with cancer in the UK every single week, and two out of ten will not survive.
The charity works with childhood cancer professionals to ensure that every child receives the very best treatment and care, and that their families are given expert guidance throughout their journey. The charity also funds research into childhood cancers which enables them to offer award-winning information resources to families.
Over the last 35 years, CCLG has had a big part to play in the major survival rate improvements for childhood cancer. But there are still some childhood cancers that remain particularly difficult to treat and cure, and treatments can have long-lasting side effects. Further research is vital to ensure more cancers can be cured and the side-effects of treatment reduced.
Your support will also help the charity with the following:
Membership: As the UK and Ireland’s professional association for all those involved in the treatment and care of children with cancer, CCLG supports members to ensure that every child receives the highest level of treatment and care throughout their journey.
Information resources: CCLG helps families understand their child’s diagnosis, treatment and what to expect in the future through an extensive portfolio of award-winning information publications, written by experts in childhood cancer.
Projects: CCLG leads on a number of important projects, such as ChildCancerSmart, which studies the diagnosis pathway to better understand the lengths of any delays and the barriers to prompt diagnosis.
Fundraising: The team relies heavily on the generosity of donations to continue its work. You can extend your support by fundraising for CCLG through holding a one-off fundraiser, taking part in one of our challenge events or supporting us during a campaign such as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in September.
